Mayer Johnson, makers of the Dynavox, publish apps

Mayer Johnson, makers of the Dynavox, have published some apps that are currently free for the iPad. The apps use what Dynavox refers to as PCS - picture communication symbols (abstract drawn images). They currently have 4 types of apps - Flash Cards, Word Scramble, Match Memory and Bingo. There is a fee for additional modules; they run $2.99 each.

Demo vidoes and additional information are available from their website. Go check them out and let us know what you think!

A Call for Help

Up until now, all the work we have done and resources we have provided have come from our own time and pocket - we have taken no money from vendors or agencies. As some of you may know, we have a child with ASD ourselves (and the associated costs!!!) We would like to do more but are constrained. We would like to be able to provide our services at no cost or sliding scale to families and to support service providers at minimal costs. However, to do so will require a lot of work and more resources. We realize that we cannot do this on our own!!! We are in the process of trying to start a non-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) support foundation for assistive technology. This is a process. If there is a lawyer or CPA that could donate their time for this cause - it would be most appreciated. Please contact us.
